We’ve pulled together a few books about oppression in the United States, which you can find on display in the library.
Though we are on the opposite side of the country, I believe one way we can help move forward is by ensuring that our library remains a safe space for all of our students, regardless of gender expression, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, and faith. We understand that this is a time for mourning and healing, and I’d personally like to offer up hugs to any student in need of one. We stand in solidarity with our queer and Latinx brothers and sisters, recognizing the long history of violence against these communities. The OCOM Library staff is completely heartbroken by the tragic shooting in Orlando.
